This tour will immerse you in the local culture and introduce you to a rich and varied history right on Australia’s doorstep.

On arrival at NoiBai Airport, you wil be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital is a stylish and gracious city that retains a unique old world charm and some of Asia’s most striking colonial architectures. The many lakes and parks make for a relaxing atmosphere.

Overnight in Hanoi

This morning, enjoy a city tour of Hanoi that includes visits to the Temple of Literature (Van Mieu temple), the first university in Vietnam, The Presidential Palace, Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, Stilt House and One Pillar Pagoda. In the afternoon, continue the tour with one hour trishaw (cyclo) ride around the old streets, then visit  HoanKiem Lake, Ngoc Son Temple,   and enjoy a water puppet show.

Note: Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum closes on Monday and Friday, afternoons and from  September to November every year for maintenance. You can still continue to visit other places in the Ho Chi Minh complex such as the House on Stilts, Presidencial Palace, One Pillar Pagoda etc.

We will transfer to Halong Bay through the scenic countryside. Halong Bay is truly one of Vietnam’s most impressive scenic sights. Heading out of the town we embark on a boat for an exploration of the legendary Halong Bay. This exciting cruise will provide us a fantastic view of the picturesque scenery blending with the sky and some 3,000 limestone islands rising amazingly from the clear and emerald water. The limestone karsts formations are littered with beaches, grottoes and beautiful caves. Along the way we will anchor for a leisurely swim in a secluded cove and an enjoyable visit to one of the many hidden grottoes beneath towering cliffs.

Waking up and having breakfast served onboard. Continue cruising around the bay. Take sampan to visit Luon Cave and come back to the boat. Having brunch before disembarking and a van will pick you up at the pier and transfer back to Noi Bai airport for late flight to Hue. You will be met and transferred to your hotel.

This morning, is at leisure. In the afternoon, take a city tour to visit the Imperial Citadel and the Forbidden City. Then shop at the Dong Ba local market.

This morning, take one way boat cruise along Perfume River to visit Thien Mu Pagoda – the biggest, oldest pagoda of Hue. In the afternoon, visit Khai Dinh King’ Tomb – the structure of extraordinary architectural style and visit Tu Duc king’ tomb on the peaceful pine hill.

Today head north to Hoi An and visit Marble Mountain on the way. Continue to enjoy the fascinating scenery en route and the beautiful coastline of the South China Sea before winding way up to the spectacular Hai Van Pass. After arriving in Hoi An, check into hotel, then free at leisure.

Morning visits to Covered Bridge, Phuc Kien Communal House, and Thien Hau Temple, an ancient house still inhabited by people. Continue to the Assembly Hall of the Cantonese Chinese Congregation founded in 1786 (the PhucKien Pagoda), the Tan Ky House built almost 200 years ago, and the central markets to have an overview about food and ingredients in Hoi An. In the afternoon, feel free to explore ancient Hoi An by walking down the 400-year-old narrow streets and visiting the best Tailor shop that makes clothes ready for pick up within 24 hours.

Overnight in Hoi An

In the morning, you are transferred to Da Nang for your flight to Saigon. After arriving, visit the Reunification Palace which was the former headquarters of the Saigon government (from 1954 – 1974); Next, depart for the Cu Chi tunnels. Crawl into a short section of the 250 km tunnel complex to learn about the sufferings of undaunted guerrillas during their 30 years of resistance against the French and Americans. Come back to Saigon in the late afternoon.

Today visit My Tho. On the way, take the Mekong River cruise, visit a coconut candy making workshop in which sweets are made using traditional methods. Visit a peasant family to taste tea with honey and tropical fruit. Relax on a row boat and glide through small canals shaded by a forest of water-coconut trees. Then continue to Phoenix Island to visit some workshops making handicrafts from coconut wood. Afternoon, back to Saigon, visit Old Saigon Post Office and Notre Dame Cathedral, etc. Later free for shopping.

In the morning, transfer to the airport for flight to Phnom Penh. Upon arrival meet and transfer to the hotel for check-in. In the afternoon have a city tour to visit the National Museum which exhibits Khmer art, particularly sculptures from different periods of Cambodian history, Royal Palace built in 1866 by King Norodom and the Silver Pagoda named because of its floor which is made up of 5,000 silver tiles and located within the Royal Palace.
Overnight in Phnom Penh

This morning, drive to Skuon town for a sampling of sautéed spiders, a local delicacy. On the way you will visit SamborPreiKuk, Angkorian City. Have a break at Kapong Thom town and at a monumental ancient stone bridge in Kampong Kdei, built by the Khmers 1000 years ago. Arrive at Siem Reap, check in to hotel, free at leisure.

After breakfast, visit the South Gate of Angkor Thom and the famous Bayon Temple – built by Jayavarman VII at the end of the 12th century, in the very center of the city of Angkor Thom. Later proceed to Baphuon, Phimean Akas, and the Terraces of Elephants and Leper King.
In the afternoon, visit Ta Prom Temple and then discover Angkor Wat. Architecturally and artistically breathtaking, Angkor. Later return to Phnom Bakheng to view a magnificent sunset.
Overnight in Siem Riep

After breakfast at the hotel, embark on an ox cart to visit the Khmer Village and enjoy view of the rice field and a lots of palm tress with great fresh air. Visit the floating village of the Chong Khneas located 10km south of Siem Reap. Take a traditional wooden boat on the Tonle Sap, the “Great Lake” of Cambodia and the largest in Asia. Then visit and shop at “Les Artisans d’Angkor – ChantiersEcole”, the rebirth of the Finest Authentic Khmer Arts and Crafts. Then transfer to Siem Reap Airport for flight back to Australia.
