Who said you can’t escape to a tropical holiday right now – Norfolk Island is welcoming fellow Australians holidaymakers.  You don’t need a passport – but you can buy duty free – how good is that!

Australia’s Norfolk Island is one of the few places outside of America that celebrates Thanksgiving Day on fourth Thursday in November.

It reflects the Island’s rich international history – with American whaling ships having made frequent stops to the island during the late 1800’s – bringing with them  American style recipes like pumpkin pie and cornbread.

To this day, the people of Norfolk Island traditionally celebrate this ” holiday festival” by enjoying a traditional lunch with family and friends, often after attending a local church service.  The Taste Norfolk Island Food Festival is usually also held during the same week – but for this year,  the friendly locals are saving up their receipies and island flavours for an exta special festival in 2021!  But a few pumpkin pies are sure to be enjoyed next week!

Being an external Australian territory in the Pacific Ocean  – its about 1600 km northeast of Sydney – it sthe perfect  tropical paradise escape that you can travel to right now – so why not plan your own Norfolk Island Holday escape.

We have created some special week log discover tours that include flights, acocmodationa nd island highlights.  Visit www.libertytours.com.au/norfolk-island-holiday to learn more.
